Spend an afternoon shooting beautiful models in warm, sunny Arizona! The 2008 Desert Fox Shootout will begin promptly at 9 am and continue until 3 pm, with a 45 minute to 1 hour lunch break, with lunch included. All photographers will have the opportunity to photograph all models as well as utilize each set. We're working for a 1/1 photographer to model ratio (maybe even more models!). Registration will be limited in order to maintain this ratio. Workshop will be led by VIP Photographics. They've been doing workshops and shootouts since 1979. Their first was a workshop with Penthouse Magazine model Jennifer Patterson, and Genesis Magazine centerfold and cover girl Penny. Since that time, VIP Photographics has done over 200 national magazine covers and have photographed hundreds of models for a wide variety of national and local magazines. Digital cameras are preferred but film shooters are welcome as well. Instruction will be available if needed. Beginners and experienced photographers are all welcome. This is a great place for beginners to learn about photography, and for experienced shooters to learn something new. We always have shootouts/workshops, and there are always plenty of great photographers available to answer questions... and to learn from. Many of the models we have booked will be available to do figure/nude work. However each model may have her own restrictions and/or requirements for posing nude, and might not pose nude during our scheduled shooting. Some of the models will be staying after the shoot for private shoots. Arrangements can be made during the shoot.
You will be able to use the images for self-promotion only, but if you want to re-sell or use images on a pay site, you would need to work that out with each model individually. You will be given a general release that you will be responsible for having the models that you shoot sign. Photographers should provide at least 5 of their best shots on a CD for the model, within 10 working days. The models will be working hard and are posing to benefit their portfolio and further their career. All models and photographers must be over the age of 18, due to the fact that there may be forms of nudity involved. Releases will be provided for models to sign. Refunds are available for cancelation 48 hours or more in advance. There will be a $25 cancelation fee after that. You can also trade this for a spot at the next shootout.
Each set is unique and can be utilized from a wide variety of angles, offering choices in lighting and composition. The western set is composed of an old fashioned wood built building, with several smaller sets built in. There's a doorway, a hitching post, hay bales, a fence, along with a variety of props like an old saddle, ropes, wagon wheel, cowboy hats, etc. The pool setting has an awesome pool with great backgrounds from a variety of angles. Surrounded by green grass, trees, and flowering rose bushes, you'll love the shots you get. Props are available for pool scenes too - noodles, floatation devices, etc - as well as a doublewide 2 person moon-shaped chase lounge on the side. The shower setting is a rustic outdoor shower setting featuring a unique flagstone floor. The desert setting shows some of the best views in Tucson. Perfect native cactus and plants make for scenic backdrops. The indoor set is a bedroom scene featuring a red satin bedcover, headboard, various plants and nightstands, and all the lighting you'll need. People have a had a blast coming to these events in the past. We've got lots of photogenic models, including nationally published magazine models; some of whom we've personally discovered, and will be seen first at this shootout. The models are friendly and easy to work with, making your job as a photographer a breeze. We'll personally be on hand to give pointers, and answer questions. This won't be just a point and shoot session; you'll actually take home ideas and techniques to use. We will have a professional makeup artist on hand from Artistry in Makeup. The models will look their best so that your shots come out perfect. After the shoot, the sets will still be available for your use for private shoots. Set this up with your favorite model during the shootout. |

Most of the shooting is planned for outside, therefore you will need to have
your own flash or lighting equipment. This shootout will have an indoor
studio set up with lighting provided and pre-set. No changes to the studio
setup are allowed. We highly recommend at least an on camera flash for the
outdoor sessions, as well as reflectors if you desire. There will be one
indoor set and several outdoor sets available, including western set, outdoor
shower, pool setting, desert rock, and more.
We have a wide variety of unique sets. Your portfolio won't be full of the
same old set with different girls in different poses. When you come to our
shootout, you will have such variation in your pictures, it will look like
you've traveled to several locations to photograph.
